Marty was a mouse of Holeborn. He was a friend of Piccadilly's and reminded the latter of Oswald Chitter.
He had an unusual zigzag pattern of fur on his back that resembled a bolt of lightning. It was referred to as a "freak mark" by the barmy rat Barker (who, unbeknownst to anyone at the time, was really the god Bauchan in disguise).
